Mentoring and Supervision for Acupuncturists

supervision
Caroline offers Mentoring and Supervision sessions to Acupuncturists and others working in the caring profession. These are supportive 1:1 and group sessions both in person and remotely via Zoom.

Supervision has been an integral part of Caroline’s working life since her early 20s, having offered professional structured support over a long period of time and being involved in the delivery of Supervision Skills training. She has supported new Acupuncture graduates in their transition to become practitioners for over 12 years.

She is part of a national network of accredited mentors and supervisors and a registered Mentor Supervisor with The British Acupuncture Council. Caroline offers group supervision to Acupuncturists around the country as part of The Practitioner Hub offering personal and professional development attached to The Northern College of Acupuncture.

As Acupuncturists we often work in isolation making complex decisions and balancing many different needs without the support of a wider team. It is essential to gain support for ourselves and our businesses in order to sustain our practice.

Supervision provides the opportunity to explore and reflect on our complex working life in a supportive, non-judgmental environment. It contributes to our own personal growth and development and ultimately greatly improves the quality of the service we offer to our clients. It is a place for learning, reflection, growth and support.

Supervision is a particular type of professional conversation, an enabling conversation. It provides an environment where a person feels safe enough to open up about issues relevant to them. Practitioners are supported in reaching their own conclusions by offering non-judgmental questions and feedback that will help to facilitate in a journey towards clarity.

Being part of a supervision group is very exciting. Creating trust and building something new. Working in a non-competitive environment. Groups are a rich source of learning both from other group members and the facilitator.
