After unsuccessfully trying for a baby and having several tests I was told by an eminent expert in fertility that my sperm had problems with mobility and function and that my wife and I would need to have IVF and ICSI to conceive a child. I was told that I was probably born this way and it could be genetic, having had no other children we agreed to be put on the waiting list for IVF. Both my wife and I had many acupuncture sessions over the course of several months with Caroline at her clinic in the run up to our IVF treatment. The day of the egg collection I was ushered away my an embryologist and told that since the last time I was tested my sperm had recovered to become much higher quality, as good as ‘normal’ in fact and that we would no longer require ICSI. We subsequently fertilised 12 eggs using normal IVF and managed to have a blastocyst implanted, as a bonus we had two embryos’s frozen. We are currently waiting to find out if my wife is pregnant but I but would like to thank Caroline for my treatment and potentially curing my ‘problem’.

Before trying acupuncture I had suffered with severe migraines for a couple of years, often having at least one a week but often up to 3 or 4 in a week every single month, I had been back and forth a the doctors and also been referred to 3 separate neurologists none of which offered any help or successful treatment other than suggestions of long term medication which I was very reluctant to accept. I decided to try acupuncture after reading that this is now a recommended and recognised treatment for migraine. After only a few sessions with Caroline the benefits were incredible, I can easily go a couple of months without an attack, the impact this has had on my life is invaluable and the positive effects the treatment is unquestionable, I cannot recommend this method of treatment or thank Caroline enough.

I was very anxious knowing that my baby was in the breech position at 35 weeks. I wanted to do everything I could to avoid a caesarean. I myself am a midwife so knew what my hospital could offer, which was an ECV after 36 weeks. I knew from research I had come across in my profession that moxibustion had a similar success rate to ECV but carried less risks to myself and my baby. So I googled local places to have the treatment and came across Calverley and Rawdon Acupuncture clinic. Caroline was fantastic on the phone gave me lots of information when booking my appointment. When I arrived the clinic room was wonderfully calm and peaceful so I immediately felt relaxed. Caroline went through a thorough consultation and explained the treatment in detail. The treatment itself was very relaxing and my baby seemed to enjoy it wriggling away like crazy. She gave me an information leaflet on how to continue the treatment myself at home and much to my amazement the baby turned to head down 3 days later. I was over the moon, and am now 39+4 weeks waiting patiently for my baby to arrive naturally. Caroline also informed me of an acupuncture treatment that aims to induce labour, which if I go overdue, I plan to book and have every confidence it will help me meet my baby that little bit sooner.

I suffered from regular severe migraines for most of my adult life which were so bad I would spend hours in bed , vomiting and enduring terrible pain which no amount of medication seemed to touch. I contacted Caroline and embarked on a course of acupuncture and even though I really didn’t expect it to work it DID ! It’s been over three years since I finished treatment and in that time I have had just ONE attack. I’ve recently returned to Caroline’s clinic as I have been getting frequent tension headaches and after just a couple of sessions I have experienced a vast improvement. After trying to get pregnant for several years, two years ago my husband was diagnosed with severe oligospermia – a very low sperm count. We couldn’t believe it! It was a real unexpected shock. Fortunately with my fertility intact, we were accepted onto a course of ICSI treatment with LGI.

Wanting to maximise our chances of success, we spent some time researching on the internet, and we decided to focus on improving our lifestyle with better nutrition and acupuncture. We found Caroline, who really fitted the bill as she is affiliated to Zita West. My husband was treated first with acupuncture, which he found very relaxing and Caroline supported his treatment with Chinese medicine. The month that we were due to start IVF, I fell pregnant naturally. I am sure the acupuncture, herbs and fertility advice made a difference and I would specifically recommend the Calverley and Rawdon Acupuncture Clinic. Caroline is particularly experienced treating couples with fertility issues.

I first went to see Caroline to try acupuncture for unexplained infertility. I had read some articles on how acupuncture can help with infertility and wanted to try all I could to help me get pregnant naturally and then to support me through an IVF cycle if my fertility journey came to that. Over the years I ended up having 2 ICSI cycles plus 2 frozen embryo transfers. I then had a natural pregnancy whilst on some immunotherapy treatment. Caroline & Rachael were fantastic throughout my journey. There are 3 things that I loved about this clinic:. Caroline & Rachael explained why different acupuncture points were used at different stages of my monthly cycle, through IVF and through pregnancy. I noticed a difference in my periods as soon as I started acupuncture (less blood clots) from the very beginning of my acupuncture treatment so I knew it was working and doing something!. I found the acupuncture treatment very relaxing, which is an added bonus when dealing with the stress of unexplained infertility. And most importantly, Caroline and Rachael gave me fantastic emotional support and helped me ask the right questions of my fertility clinics. They are a wonderful, caring and professional team. After many years of fertility treatment, I am pleased that I now have a little miracle that has joined our family. I will miss my regular sessions with Caroline and Rachael. No doubt I will pop back for the odd relaxation treatment instead!

I can not recommend Caroline and Rachael highly enough. I had already suffered four miscarriages when I first contacted the clinic and was really struggling to imagine how I would ever manage to carry another baby to term. Caroline did a thorough assessment and was confident she could help; I was bowled over by her knowledge and expertise in fertility.Over the next nine months I visited the clinic regularly for treatments which I am sure were instrumental in me keeping this baby. I had a very anxious pregnancy due to my previous losses, and further complications in this pregnancy, and acupuncture helped me to relax and gain a sense of calm and perspective each week.As my baby was breech, then oblique, up until 36 weeks, I opted for the moxa treatment in clinic, which was successful. I also had the induction treatment on my due date and, sure enough, I went into labour the next morning, giving birth to a healthy baby boy at home. Success all round!Both Caroline and Rachael were incredibly kind, compassionate and supportive. They really cared, and it meant so much to feel like I had someone else fighting my corner when I felt let down by the consultants.I will be forever grateful to them both for helping me to finally complete my family.
