It was my first experience of any ‘alternative’ medicine. I was immediately set at ease by the holistic approach to treatment and the attention given to our particular circumstances. Acupuncture gave me very positive energy throughout our hospital treatments, giving mental and physical strength to meet and accept any outcome. At the clinic I was given needle treatments and advised on Chinese herbs and diet throughout my IVF and later throughout my pregnancy. The results were that I got pregnant, had a very healthy pregnancy, again assisted by acupuncture techniques, and now have a delightful two year old. I am so glad we found Calverley and Rawdon Clinic. My experiences are that traditional medicines can be intrusive and intense; acupuncture for us was gentle without side effects and effective. For me, acupuncture is an overall positive experience on its own or alongside traditional treatments to restore balance.

Two separate friends recommended Caroline and her team at Calverley and Rawdon Acupuncture Clinic to me as an additional avenue to explore as part of my fertility journey. I contacted the clinic and quickly booked in for an online fertility consultation. At the end of the hour and a half talking through my complex issues with Caroline online, I burst into tears – tears of relief! For the first time in 3 years, this was the first time a professional had discussed all of the possible causes of recurrent miscarriage in depth with me. We discussed diet, lifestyle and familial medical history in far more depth than the clinicians at the hospital have ever asked about. I was given a bank of useful information to support me in trying different techniques to support our chances of a successful pregnancy. I now have weekly acupuncture sessions which I feel are having a positive impact on my health and wellbeing. My husband and I had been trying for a baby for 2 years. I was diagnosed with mild polycystic ovary syndrome and my husband had a low reading for morphology. Whilst on the waiting list for IVF my husband and I both started being treated with acupuncture by Caroline and following her dietary advice and taking Chinese herbs. We wanted to give ourselves the best chance when we started IVF. With all the stress and disappointments of traditional treatments, the acupuncture treatment felt like we were doing something really positive that would make a difference. The month that we were due to start IVF, I fell pregnant naturally. Having completed one unsuccessful round of IVF I decided to supplement a second treatment with acupuncture. I truly believe that the acupuncture benefited me throughout the second round of treatment. I found the procedures easier and had a shorter recovery time. The eggs and embryos were of better quality than in the first round and I am now happily pregnant with twins. Caroline has been a great support throughout and I would recommend her treatment to anyone undergoing fertility treatment.

I came to see you for moxibustion last Wednesday (to turn my breech baby). My midwife sent me for a presentation scan this morning and baby has turned head down!

I was very anxious knowing that my baby was in the breech position at 35 weeks. I wanted to do everything I could to avoid a caesarean. I myself am a midwife so knew what my hospital could offer, which was an ECV after 36 weeks. I knew from research I had come across in my profession that moxibustion had a similar success rate to ECV but carried less risks to myself and my baby. So I googled local places to have the treatment and came across Calverley and Rawdon Acupuncture clinic. Caroline was fantastic on the phone gave me lots of information when booking my appointment. When I arrived the clinic room was wonderfully calm and peaceful so I immediately felt relaxed. Caroline went through a thorough consultation and explained the treatment in detail. The treatment itself was very relaxing and my baby seemed to enjoy it wriggling away like crazy. She gave me an information leaflet on how to continue the treatment myself at home and much to my amazement the baby turned to head down 3 days later. I was over the moon, and am now 39+4 weeks waiting patiently for my baby to arrive naturally. Caroline also informed me of an acupuncture treatment that aims to induce labour, which if I go overdue, I plan to book and have every confidence it will help me meet my baby that little bit sooner.

Caroline was so knowledgeable and easy to talk to. The initial fertility consultation was helpful and informative. She helped me to understand my cycle, my fertility and how to navigate this, it was a lot more personalised than any appointment with my GP.
I went for acupuncture for 5 months up until I fell pregnant and continued with sessions during my pregnancy.

I don’t think I would have gained the understanding of my fertility without her and therefore would have continued to struggle to conceive.

I now have a 6 week old healthy baby boy!

I’ve seen Caroline for Acupuncture for a number of different reasons over the last 10 years. I first sought help to calm my skin because of hormonal break outs, then I had regular acupuncture at the end of my two pregnancies to prepare my body for birth and since then I’ve had help with stress relief and inflammation and latterly I’ve tried facial acupuncture. Every session I’ve left feeling relaxed and calm. Caroline is very knowledgeable and tailors the acupuncture to exactly your needs, taking a thorough history of symptoms and the help you’re seeking. I’d thoroughly recommend Caroline’s clinic for acupuncture. Thanks Caroline!

I first discovered this clinic back in 2021 & had the pleasure of coming weekly/fortnightly for 10 months. I returned again in mid 2025 for a slightly different issue & so glad to be back weekly.

The care, compassion, knowledge & expertise of all the team are wonderful & they always go out of their way to help in any way they can. You feel like you have a team of cheerleaders behind you willing you on your way to your end goal, whatever that looks like ☺️

I first had sciatica in 2018; it was persistent but in desperation I tried acupuncture and found that it improved rapidly. Forward to 2025 and in April I suddenly started again with sciatica, much more painful than in 2018. I have been back to Caroline and again the treatment has been very successful, the symptoms receding quickly. I have no hesitation in recommending Caroline.

Menieres Disease - treatment
I had recently been diagnosed and was struggling to find a balance of normal life after a week of multiple incidents.I spoke with Kate who gave me confidence and assurance that acupuncture could help.
I approached the treatment with some scepticism, after a bad experience some 10 years earlier with a different clinic (now closed).
The experience I have had being treated by Kate has been a whole different experience. Kate took a detailed history and explained what she was going to do and the effect it should have. The treatment plan has been very effective, helping reset and getting me on an even keel, calmer and more balanced, before starting to improve my energy levels.
I am now on a maintenance schedule.
I am no longer a sceptic, I am a convert. Thankyou Kate.

Caroline and her team are AMAZING!! I cannot recommend them enough. I have been attending the clinic for 18 months and every session I have had I have left feeling relaxed and listened to.
I found the clinic, after suffering from recurrent miscarriage and when I was feeling a bit lost and confused about it all. When I met Caroline, she did a detailed assessment of me and my past history. I then started attending weekly sessions. My fertility journey was not straight forward and each week Caroline would listen to my updates and offer advice and guidance. Her knowledge of fertility is brilliant which helped me greatly. She even put me in touch with a fantastic Dr who specialised in the area of fertility I needed investigated. This ended up being a huge turning point in my journey.

After a year of attending the clinic, I found out I was pregnant. Caroline helped me navigate through early pregnancy and all the anxiety and emotions that go with it after loss. It helped me attending the clinic and I would leave feeling relaxed. I think these sessions helped me to keep the baby and also helped keep me sane. Caroline celebrated every milestone with me and I know she was genuinely happy for me and my family.

I have also attended some appointments with other members of the Calverley and Rawdon Acupuncture team over the last few months and all of the women were extremely knowledgeable, compassionate and supportive.

I cannot thank the clinic enough and I will always been grateful for the support and guidance they provided me. I would highly recommend them to anyone going through a similar experience.

I can not recommend Caroline and Rachael highly enough. I had already suffered four miscarriages when I first contacted the clinic and was really struggling to imagine how I would ever manage to carry another baby to term. Caroline did a thorough assessment and was confident she could help; I was bowled over by her knowledge and expertise in fertility.

Over the next nine months I visited the clinic regularly for treatments which I am sure were instrumental in me keeping this baby. I had a very anxious pregnancy due to my previous losses, and further complications in this pregnancy, and acupuncture helped me to relax and gain a sense of calm and perspective each week.

As my baby was breech, then oblique, up until 36 weeks, I opted for the moxa treatment in clinic, which was successful. I also had the induction treatment on my due date and, sure enough, I went into labour the next morning, giving birth to a healthy baby boy at home. Success all round!

Both Caroline and Rachael were incredibly kind, compassionate and supportive. They really cared, and it meant so much to feel like I had someone else fighting my corner when I felt let down by the consultants.

I will be forever grateful to them both for helping me to finally complete my family.
