I met Caroline whilst struggling to build my practice as a new acupuncturist. Finding Caroline at that point in my journey was exactly what I needed. The acupuncture and care I received throughout my pregnancy helped with worry, sickness and really helped to relieve severe hip pain in my last trimester. I was waking every hour at one point in agony and after one treatment in my hip I was able to sleep through the night. I love every aspect of the acupuncture including the way Caroline goes above and beyond just the treatment with her expert advice and reassurance. Thank you so much!

Before trying acupuncture I had suffered with severe migraines for a couple of years, often having at least one a week but often up to 3 or 4 in a week every single month, I had been back and forth a the doctors and also been referred to 3 separate neurologists none of which offered any help or successful treatment other than suggestions of long term medication which I was very reluctant to accept. I decided to try acupuncture after reading that this is now a recommended and recognised treatment for migraine. After only a few sessions with Caroline the benefits were incredible, I can easily go a couple of months without an attack, the impact this has had on my life is invaluable and the positive effects the treatment is unquestionable, I cannot recommend this method of treatment or thank Caroline enough.

Each time I visit , you have reviewed my current state of health as a whole person, so that whenever I have had other problems such as hot flushes with the menopause or musculoskeletal pain such as neck or back pain you have given me acupuncture for these as well. No doubt I will find other things go wrong with my body as I grow older!!

I came to see you for moxibustion last Wednesday (to turn my breech baby). My midwife sent me for a presentation scan this morning and baby has turned head down!
I definitely felt increased movements following the treatment but I wasn’t sure if it had turned. I don’t know how it works but thank you very much. My midwife is sure to recommend you to future pregnant ladies with breech babies.

Two separate friends recommended Caroline and her team at Calverley and Rawdon Acupuncture Clinic to me as an additional avenue to explore as part of my fertility journey. I contacted the clinic and quickly booked in for an online fertility consultation. At the end of the hour and a half talking through my complex issues with Caroline online, I burst into tears – tears of relief! For the first time in 3 years, this was the first time a professional had discussed all of the possible causes of recurrent miscarriage in depth with me. We discussed diet, lifestyle and familial medical history in far more depth than the clinicians at the hospital have ever asked about. I was given a bank of useful information to support me in trying different techniques to support our chances of a successful pregnancy. I now have weekly acupuncture sessions which I feel are having a positive impact on my health and wellbeing. The treatment was successful, my pregnancy went really well and our beautiful baby girl was born in April this year! We are both doing well and she is healthy and gorgeous. Having been diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy three weeks earlier, (no, I’d never heard of it either) both my GP and the NHS physiotherapist that I was referred to had warned me to expect continued facial paralyse for up to six months and possibly beyond. Almost immediately after starting a twice weekly acupuncture programme at the clinic, I experienced significant and clearly noticeable improvement. After another three weeks I was able to close my left eye and do away with the eye patch. My Physio’s mouth literally fell open when I showed him the progress I was making at our next scheduled appointment, resulting in me being ‘discharged’ from the NHS outpatient system. Based on my own experience, the impact on improving recovery time from Bell’s Palsy through acupuncture is clear. However, I’m also convinced that the broader experience that I received at this particular clinic helped me manage the emotional effects of the condition, through Caroline’s professional but very personal approach to treatment, and giving me regular points within my week to proactively do something to help my recovery

After unsuccessfully trying for a baby and having several tests I was told by an eminent expert in fertility that my sperm had problems with mobility and function and that my wife and I would need to have IVF and ICSI to conceive a child. I was told that I was probably born this way and it could be genetic, having had no other children we agreed to be put on the waiting list for IVF. Both my wife and I had many acupuncture sessions over the course of several months with Caroline at her clinic in the run up to our IVF treatment. The day of the egg collection I was ushered away my an embryologist and told that since the last time I was tested my sperm had recovered to become much higher quality, as good as ‘normal’ in fact and that we would no longer require ICSI. We subsequently fertilised 12 eggs using normal IVF and managed to have a blastocyst implanted, as a bonus we had two embryos’s frozen. We are currently waiting to find out if my wife is pregnant but I but would like to thank Caroline for my treatment and potentially curing my ‘problem’.

After trying to get pregnant for several years, two years ago my husband was diagnosed with severe oligospermia – a very low sperm count. We couldn’t believe it! It was a real unexpected shock. Fortunately with my fertility intact, we were accepted onto a course of ICSI treatment with LGI.
Wanting to maximise our chances of success, we spent some time researching on the internet, and we decided to focus on improving our lifestyle with better nutrition and acupuncture. We found Caroline, who really fitted the bill as she is affiliated to Zita West. My husband was treated first with acupuncture, which he found very relaxing and Caroline supported his treatment with Chinese medicine. I was also treated in preparation for and throughout the ICSI cycle. Both of us found Caroline very supportive and understanding throughout this difficult period in our lives. The outcome has been a massive success – my husband’s sperm improved in quality, and we were successful in conceiving one beautiful baby girl on our first attempt. We are thrilled!! I firmly believe that we couldn’t have done it without Caroline’s help. Caroline was also fantastic at supporting me throughout my pregnancy – I had a lovely pregnancy throughout. I would recommend Caroline to any couple embarking on a fertility journey.

I first heard about the benefits of acupuncture alongside IVF treatment when my first cycle of IVF was in threat of being cancelled due to the fact that I had had no response to the stimulation drugs. The dosage had already been increased to the highest level and there was nothing further the hospital could do. I researched into what I could do to kick start things into action. There were many articles suggesting the benefits of acupuncture and I looked for clinics in my area and saw that the Calverley and Rawdon Clinic was affiliated with the fertility expert Zita West’s clinic. I wanted to ensure I went to a specialist fertility acupuncturist who would understand the nature of my treatment and my worries and needs.
I had two treatments of acupuncture prior to my next hospital appointment and the nurses were shocked to see such a response and rather than being cancelled my egg collection was scheduled shortly afterwards. Whilst I was nervous about those early treatments, I found acupuncture to be relaxing and not at all painful. I continued with acupuncture throughout my fertility treatment.
Unfortunately my first cycle was unsuccessful, though we were fortunate enough to get two frozen embryos from that cycle. I had acupuncture treatments in the lead up to and throughout my frozen cycle four months later and I am now very happily 12 weeks pregnant.
I credit Caroline’s acupuncture treatments for helping the first cycle to continue, as the frozen embryo that will become our first baby was collected from that cycle that initially looked to be so much in jeopardy.
I would recommend the Calverley and Rawdon Acupuncture Clinic to anyone embarking on the journey through fertility treatment.
