My husband and I had been trying for a baby for 2 years. I was diagnosed with mild polycystic ovary syndrome and my husband had a low reading for morphology. Whilst on the waiting list for IVF my husband and I both started being treated with acupuncture by Caroline and following her dietary advice and taking Chinese herbs. We wanted to give ourselves the best chance when we started IVF. With all the stress and disappointments of traditional treatments, the acupuncture treatment felt like we were doing something really positive that would make a difference. The month that we were due to start IVF, I fell pregnant naturally. I am sure the acupuncture, herbs and fertility advice made a difference and I would specifically recommend the Calverley and Rawdon Acupuncture Clinic. Caroline is particularly experienced treating couples with fertility issues. My husband is uncomfortable with needles, but with some relaxation techniques Caroline reassured him and after the second week of treatment he was so relaxed he would doze off on the treatment table. We both found the treatment to be a positive experience and thankfully, we had a positive result!

I first considered Acupuncture when I read an article suggesting it was helpful in the treatment of Trigeminal Neuralgia. I had exhausted treatments in conventional medicine and I was suffering from acute pain in my face. Despite initial trepidation, my first visit to Caroline proved extremely successful in the management of pain. There has been a continued improvement following each subsequent visit. The facilities at this practice are excellent and I would without hesitation suggest Acupuncture to anyone suffering pain.

I came to see you for moxibustion last Wednesday (to turn my breech baby). My midwife sent me for a presentation scan this morning and baby has turned head down!
I definitely felt increased movements following the treatment but I wasn’t sure if it had turned. I don’t know how it works but thank you very much. My midwife is sure to recommend you to future pregnant ladies with breech babies.

I had read about the benefits of acupuncture alongside IVF and made an appointment to see Caroline. I am now 13 weeks pregnant and believe that the acupuncture sessions alongside the IVF helped me to get pregnant. After unsuccessfully trying for a baby and having several tests I was told by an eminent expert in fertility that my sperm had problems with mobility and function and that my wife and I would need to have IVF and ICSI to conceive a child. I was told that I was probably born this way and it could be genetic, having had no other children we agreed to be put on the waiting list for IVF. Both my wife and I had many acupuncture sessions over the course of several months with Caroline at her clinic in the run up to our IVF treatment. The day of the egg collection I was ushered away my an embryologist and told that since the last time I was tested my sperm had recovered to become much higher quality, as good as ‘normal’ in fact and that we would no longer require ICSI. We subsequently fertilised 12 eggs using normal IVF and managed to have a blastocyst implanted, as a bonus we had two embryos’s frozen. We are currently waiting to find out if my wife is pregnant but I but would like to thank Caroline for my treatment and potentially curing my ‘problem’.

I have been going to Caroline for seven years and would never go to anyone else for acupuncture. She is a professional and brilliant at what she does and has helped me through all of my fertility treatment. If anyone is going through the same, acupuncture with Caroline and her team is an essential part of your treatment which will help you with relieving anxiety, pain and also help to support the treatment you are having. Caroline has a wealth of knowledge especially when it comes to having acupuncture alongside fertility treatment and pregnancy. Caroline and her team are AMAZING!! I cannot recommend them enough. I have been attending the clinic for 18 months and every session I have had I have left feeling relaxed and listened to.I found the clinic, after suffering from recurrent miscarriage and when I was feeling a bit lost and confused about it all. When I met Caroline, she did a detailed assessment of me and my past history. I then started attending weekly sessions. My fertility journey was not straight forward and each week Caroline would listen to my updates and offer advice and guidance. Her knowledge of fertility is brilliant which helped me greatly. She even put me in touch with a fantastic Dr who specialised in the area of fertility I needed investigated. This ended up being a huge turning point in my journey.After a year of attending the clinic, I found out I was pregnant. Caroline helped me navigate through early pregnancy and all the anxiety and emotions that go with it after loss. It helped me attending the clinic and I would leave feeling relaxed. I think these sessions helped me to keep the baby and also helped keep me sane. Caroline celebrated every milestone with me and I know she was genuinely happy for me and my family.I have also attended some appointments with other members of the Calverley and Rawdon Acupuncture team over the last few months and all of the women were extremely knowledgeable, compassionate and supportive.I cannot thank the clinic enough and I will always been grateful for the support and guidance they provided me. I can not recommend Caroline and Rachael highly enough. I had already suffered four miscarriages when I first contacted the clinic and was really struggling to imagine how I would ever manage to carry another baby to term. Caroline did a thorough assessment and was confident she could help; I was bowled over by her knowledge and expertise in fertility.Over the next nine months I visited the clinic regularly for treatments which I am sure were instrumental in me keeping this baby. I had a very anxious pregnancy due to my previous losses, and further complications in this pregnancy, and acupuncture helped me to relax and gain a sense of calm and perspective each week.As my baby was breech, then oblique, up until 36 weeks, I opted for the moxa treatment in clinic, which was successful. I also had the induction treatment on my due date and, sure enough, I went into labour the next morning, giving birth to a healthy baby boy at home. Success all round!Both Caroline and Rachael were incredibly kind, compassionate and supportive. They really cared, and it meant so much to feel like I had someone else fighting my corner when I felt let down by the consultants.I will be forever grateful to them both for helping me to finally complete my family.
